Rome Sample Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Rome
Arrive at Rome’s FCO airport and join us for arranged transport to our hotel in the charming Monti district, the first district in the heart of historic Rome. We’ll stay at the Princeps Rome Monti for three nights, a historic palace now housing an elegant boutique hotel with centuries of history.
After arriving and dropping luggage at the hotel, the day is yours to get settled and explore the local area on your own.
Day 2 Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel
We will experience the highlights of Rome on a guided all-day private tour. We’ll enjoy early entrance to the Vatican museums and Sistine Chapel before the midday crowds. In the Colosseum, we have exclusive access to the arena floor – right where gladiator fights used to take place. We’ll see the Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and many other of the best sites Rome has to offer with our English guide. Day 3 Private Catacombs Tour
We will take a leisurely walk to meet our guide for a Private Catacombs Tour as we explore the incredibly fascinating underground world of Rome. This tour is an excellent way to learn about ancient history as you will explore secret Pagan temples and ancient Christian burial grounds. After our guided tour, we will make a lunch stop before we make our way to the Mamertine Prison. Under a small Roman Catholic church are the remains of the traditional site of the imprisonments of the Apostle Paul where Vince will share about Paul’s time in Rome.
Day 4 Thessaloniki
We will head back to FCO to catch a flight to Thessaloniki, where we will join up with the rest of our travelers arriving from the United States for our Footstep of Paul Tour of Greece and Turkey.
